HELP PLEASE! I got discharged for fraudulent enlistment while in boot camp. How can others find out?

I had a medical condition that YES, I told my recruiter about- she told me to lie (yes she used those exact words). I really wanted to do something selfless with my life but due to the condition I just couldn't hack in in boot camp. I was discharged after six weeks, an uncharacterized early term separation. Will this be on some kind of record? If so what kind of record. FBI? I have no other issues that could be on records but I am very worried about this as I am about to get a new job and they do an extensive background check on new hires. I never told them I was in the military because I do not consider myself to have been in. I did a criminal records check on myself and nothing came up but I am still worried. Is there anyway this could come back to haunt me? Can others find out and how? If they can, what exactly can they find out, how much info will be there? Is there a way to get this cleared from my record? Please help! -especially those in the military. Thank you so muchHELP PLEASE! I got discharged for fraudulent enlistment while in boot camp. How can others find out?
For your own peace of mind, you should be straight-up honest with any potential employer. Otherwise you'll live in fear for the rest of your life.

If the facts are exactly as you stated them here, I doubt that any employer would hold that against you. Uncharacterized discharges are given to those who fail to complete 180 days of service for any number of reasons, including those who just change their mind part way through basic training. You say that you were trying to do the right thing, but it didn't work out. Tell them that.

Get this out of the way now so that you can sleep nights in the future.HELP PLEASE! I got discharged for fraudulent enlistment while in boot camp. How can others find out?
Why don't you just apply for your new job, and see what happens? Honesty's the best policy, if they ask u about it, tell em what happened.
what was the nature of your discharge? There are a number of reasons you get discharged but depending on which one you got it may or may not be on your records.

If it was simply a honorable then you shoudl be fine but if it was another kind you may have to worry about trying to get a goverment job.
From what I know, you cannot get this information stricken from your federal record. If you applied for another government job they would probably be able to pull up your information.

In the civilian world the employer can ask for your DD-214 (Discharge Papers). If your discharge was ';other than honorable'; than you want to file an appeal to change it to honorable. Any employer with basic knowledge of the military will know that ';other than honorable'; is not the most desirable way to separate from the service. As far as your medical information goes, that is not open to the public, nor can an employer discriminate against you for a pre-existing condition. Happy job hunting!

By the way, recruiters are notorious for lying. Mine told me to lie about a number of things and luckily my ';fibs'; were never brought to the light of day.

Honesty is the best policy, but insanity is a better defense.
i agree with gokart just ell them what happened....i am unsure what the military sepration says but you should be able to check with VA
Thanks for your service even though it didn't work out. I appreciate your willingness to serve this great country. Anyway, moving on..I'd be reporting that suck a$$ recruiter first! She's supposed to advise you, and lead you, and she failed. Report her a$$! There is no reason she should get away with this. I'll bet she's done this before. REPORT HER.
Hey, that's ok. I know that certain things are on your public record but most employer will not look at that. They will look to see if you are a child molester. They may ask where you were for the last ----- months that you were in boot camp. The best thing is to be honest.

On the great side there is going to be nuclear war over by the Euphrates River and you probably would have been sent there so smile you're in the US and they will be the last to be bombed.

Sept, 12,2006 NUCLEAR WAR STARTING, not the end of people, starting.

An uncharacterized discharge is exactly that. Uncharacterized. It is neither positive or negative. Because the discharge is only given to those who those in Basic or Advanced Training, many people have them.

It shouldn't reflect on you in a negative way in any job, except possibly, government service. (And even then, only if it requires some level of security clearance.)

I doubt seriously that you can remove it from the your records, but perhaps you can apply to have the discharge upgraded to ';General, under honorable conditions.'; You can apply to a board to have this done, and I have attached a link with the necessary form.

http://www.vba.va.gov/pubs/forms/dd0293.

Hope that helps.
i can see why they dump you, they dont like cry babies get over it and move on try for the job you dont get it move on thats life
It cannot be stricken. Other's have tried to pull the same stunt, and gotten caught just as you have. It would only be a major issue of you are trying for a Federal job. otherwise, you can tell the truth..you had a medical condition that prevented you finishing boot camp.

and to any lurkers out there who think It's okay to lie about ANYTHING in order to get into the military: Guess what, you will get caught just like this person did. Ultimately, it is on YOU to disclose the truth, no matter what your recruiter may say. your recruiter won't get into trouble ..YOU WILL, unless you can prove without a doubt that they gave you poor advice and told you to lie.. which is damn near impossible BTW.
First of all, get out your DD214. I believe it's Copy 4 that has the bottom section with the actualy code that you were discharged under. Your RE (re-entry) code is probably a 2 or a 4, which means it's non-waiverable, you can't go back into the service.

Check the chapter from AR 635-200 under which you were discharged and then check out the link below. That will tell you exactly what you were discharged for. On page 45 an Uncharacterized Discharge is explained.

As for job applications, I don't think any harm will come from ommitting your short amount of service time. Technically you never made it 180 days, so you didn't really qualify as a soldier. Make sense? If you want to include it, you can and explain what happened.

Make your own decision. It's your life, but at least study up on the process you went through so you understand it in order to explain it.

Good luck!

i dont think hes got any problem, i think an entry level seperation would be the same thing as failing an entrance physical, he wasnt in long enough to qualify for a specific discharge. nobody has to, or will ever know he even enlisted, unless he tells them. i think even the army wont disclose that fact because even if records are kept ive read news stories where the army refuses to confirm basic service and this is for political candidates, i know guys who got dd and it didnt harm their careers anyway

What is life like as a marine 0311 reserves (rifleman)?

i was wondering cause that is what i signed up for, i did want rifleman and i love the job because i want to try out for FBI after college. although i wanted to go active but the recruiters arent allowing any actives in right now, i am in shape i can do 20 pull ups 100 sit ups, did them at meps, my run well its not 100% but i can pass and i am working on it, but my question is what is it like, will i get deployed more then once (cause i want to) and how do i become an active/reservist....(basicly someone who is on reserve duty but them become activated without changing there contract or renewing it) and where would i live or stay? do i get an apartment i share with other people? or do i get to sleep outside P :)What is life like as a marine 0311 reserves (rifleman)?
Your best bet would be to sign up for a marines yahoo group and ask there. You'd probably get many more answers than here and all of them would be helpful.

As you know Marines don't play games. What is life like as a marine 0311 reserves (rifleman)?
who knows, just go up to a black officer and ask him for november juliet and things should work out for you. :D

What military branch is best for me?

Ok so i plan to go in the military not for a while though because im too young. but i dont know what to join. Should i join the marines? those are some insane soldiers right there, but i dont know how well there benifits are. What about the army? I dont know how much action they get, but i hear they have great benifits. What about a Spec Ops unit... dont know much about their lifestyle. I was even considering being a millitary police officer, an FBI agent, or a Secret Service member.

I dont know what to do!!! Basically i want a job with good benifits, high pay, and as much action as i can get. I was thinking i could go into the Marines for a few years, then go to Law School, or Business school. I dont know i just would like a little help, about what carrer would be best for me out of the listed.

Please help! What military branch is best for me?
sounds like ur real intent on being a ground pounder so id say army. like u said marines and spec ops are serious deals that once u go in its not something u just wanna drop.

secret service requires alot of devotion and trust also.

if your serious about the military any of the above would be great. otherwise u may want to consider the army or maybe even national guard or reserve. not saying the army is less important cuz its not but its a little less of a patriotic commitment then the more serious branches. an MP would be a great choice also. What military branch is best for me?
Your in over your head mate.

Army and marines get equal amount of action. Just marines is a tougher job.

To be in special forces, you can't just sign up. You have to be in the military for year's, with special qualifications and physically fit!

FBI work's with the government not military.

If you want action and some benefits out of it. Join any military service. They all get action and qualifications out of the job.

You can even be a lawyer in themilitaryy. try law school first...

Try looking up the jobs on your countries army website.
I would suggest Navy. but first you have to take the ASVAB. the higher the score the better the job. i was in the Navy and my job was anti ship missile defense. I had a cool job in the intelligence community. Also the traveling is great.

dont hate just because you cant make a good score to even get in the Navy.
The Air Force has the best lifestyle out of all the branches from what I heard. Deployments are usually 3 months (6 for Security Forces), and sometimes you don't even deploy you just go on missions for around a week. Army deploys for a up to 18 months, and the Marines also have lengthy deployments.
If you join any branch- go in as what you want to major in. If its law then the navy/marines have JAG, Im not sure what the Army or Airforce has, I do know that your school is taken care either way. go in as Commision officer.

http://www.navy.com/careers/officer/atto
Maybe you will mature, but as of this moment, I'd say your perception of the Military, and of Service, is clouded... when I see questions like '; i want a job with good benifits, high pay, and as much action as i can get';, I just shake my head.
You should probably wait when you're older and try talking to some recruiters.

And don't listen to people when say you'll get shot at if you join the Marines and Army. Thats not all the Marines and Army are about. Don't bother listening to those retards.
Join the airforce.

They take very good care of you

compared to other branches.

Housing, medical, dental, for you

and your spouse.

Be like a mechanic, it safer than

being in front lines adn you get deployed alot

if thats what your after.
Consider the Air Force. Many Air Force careers are regular, 9-5 type jobs, which gives you the opportunity to go to school at night, and live an otherwise mostly normal life.
If I had to do it again.

Air Force.

Marines are crazy and you get shot at.

Army you get shot at too

Navy sucks because you're on a ship all the time.
Check out Army or Air Force logistics (supply corp)

Behind every great General there is a logistician telling him if he can really do what he wants.
I'd stick with the Salvation Army.
this pic we help u make up ur mind, http://www.mustangmods.com/data/1708/mil also just to say im army and i love it
benefits are the same where ever u go.. but remember the marines are a dept. of the navy... the mens dept..
High pay doesn't come to mind when I think of the word military. But if you meant bonus pay, well, it may be true (also reenlistment pay). But do think about it, why would they have to pay to entice anyone to stay in or to sign up in the first place.

I was in the USAF years ago. That would be the best option for you at this time.

You want a lot of actions.. means going to war. If that is what you want, the others will keep you busy. The Air Force you will spend more time in class. What do you think will be better for your future when you are discharged.
If I were you, I would talk to a recruiter for each of the branches to get all your questions answered correctly. I was going in the Air force, but wound up in the Army Reserves. It gave me two skills and I didn't want to go full time. That was best for me. When you take the ASVAB test prior, you can get a bonus in the Army for what your score is. The ASVAB test was tougher for the Air Force standards.

Take your interests and talk to them. You don't have to make a commitment yet and you can learn from each of them. Also, you can ask about civilian job pay scales when you get out from colleges around you.

You sound like you are interested in the police force or law school, so I would lean towards those.

Best wishes to you.
if you want to enlist in the military for money, just gtfo and go back to your xbox 360 right now.

what do you mean by benefits ? everyone in the military gets the same basic benefits like the GI bill, medical, dental, etc. regardless of branch, pay is based on rank. an E-3 in the army would get the same base pay an an E-3 in the marines. you would see action in both the army and the marines infantry.

as for special operations, their lifestyle can be summed up as dangerous, difficult, and *** breaking. you have to be very fit to even be considered for training.

FBI or secret service huh ? go earn a bachelor's degree, get a few years of work experience and then try your luck. you better bring something special to their table or else your chances of getting in are slim.

How do Americans feel about the both Clinton and Bush signing Presidential Directive W199I (EYE)???

Why Mr. President? Why would you sign an executive order preventing the FBI and other law enforcement officers from doing their job and duty to protect the American people?

W199-Eye(also W199i) WF 213 589, was a Investigation being carried out by various people in both the Central Intelligence Agency and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Clinton was the first President to ';interfere'; with the Investigation, but not long after George Bush got into office, it was tightened and, as John O Neil, FBI Anti-Terrorism chief said, completely killed. John O' Neil quit his job in disgust, and leaked W199-EYE to the British Press. He was not long after hired by Marvin Bush to protect the World Trade Center. His contract started on 9/11, when Marvin Bush's ended, he was killed by the attack on the 24th floor trying to guide people down to the bottom floor. FBI Agent Robert Wright has tried to blow the whistle on W199-EYE and restrictions on investigations of the Bin Laden family. How do Americans feel about the both Clinton and Bush signing Presidential Directive W199I (EYE)???

Anyone out there a Social Worker?

I want to know little about the job, because right now, I really dont know where am going with my life. I like helping others and need to know little bit about the job. What you do, how it works, your typical day at the job, am really stuck right now and dont know what to do, I wanted to be in the FBI, but I have a family to think about, and was going for teaching but that just doesnt get to me, and with social worker I would be interested in helping with child abuse. How long is the going to school.

I would appreciate all the help.

Thanks.Anyone out there a Social Worker?
Sounds like a like cause, but be sure to check out the salary of the average Social Worker. I applaud you for your desire, I was once where you are now, but everything I read and everyone I talked to said I would be overworked and way under payed. Like less than Teachers under payed. Isn't that crappy, people take these jobs to change peoples lives and we pay them scrapes.Anyone out there a Social Worker?
I am. You need a 4 year degree to begin in case management. If you want to go further the only way to advance is to get a Master's Degree. In case management, which is where one typically starts out, it can be very hectic but very rewarding. The typical day is not very typical at all because every day is different. You have a lot of paperwork as a case manager, progress notes, service plans, assessments, referrals, etc. You have to report to the court and to the DCFS every six months and you generally have a large case load of 15- 20 kids. You are responsible for sibling visits, parental visits and sometimes visits with the family. You want the best for the kids but some of them have some very severe problems, which can stem from many different things. It is a very difficult job but when you see a kid succeed, it feels great. Hope this helps and if you want more information than that, let me know.

  • I want to join the force?

I have been eager for a few years to join the force, although I don't want to be just a cop, I want to work for the FBI and secret services and get a real good job with the government. I'm only 16, I'm from the UK but I want to work for the government in America, please any tips on how to get jobs in this field?

Is studying law a good help?I want to join the force?
The FBI likes people with more than just a law background. Studying, minoring in, psychology or statistical analysis as well as law enforcement/criminal justice would be good. Military or police experience would also help you if combined with higher education. The FBI is not the Dark Side. Their interrogators raised complaints about the questioning %26amp; treatment of military prisoners, knowing that psychology gets you better answers than brute force. I often have disrespect for local police, they can seem to be goons or bullies while all of the Federal officers I have met (more than a few) have been upstanding people if a bit uptight.I want to join the force?
It's very commendable to want to join the force ~ but I fear you will have problems in joining the American law enforcement agencies as you are not an American citizen, and do not have a permit to work in the States.

Studying Law over here would help you a great deal in joining our force, and who knows, you may be good enough to finish up working in the areas you have mentioned ~ if you get to uni. and are lucky enough to get a place in an American uni. ~ then your chance would be that much greater
Yes and possibly criminology as well.

    http://www.fbijobs.gov/111.asp

The above link will advise you on the required qualifications .

You must be an American citizen, aged between 23 and 37.

The American consulate or embassy will be able to advise you on how to obtain citizenship. If you're already in America ask at your local government office.

    Good luck

Welcome to the Dark Side, Luke

Who Thinks This Dude Is A Pathological Liar?

My SO and I have been together for 4 years. He has this friend that he has been knowing before him and I even met. My SO and his friend are in their 40's.

His friend is a likable fellow and easy to talk to but since I met him my radar(not gaydar) has been on the alert. He comes over to our apartment maybe 2 or 3 times a month. We always have a pleasant conversation for about 5 hours and then leaves. He is married with 3 children...he even brought one of the kids over one time.

I asked my SO where does he live and he told me the city, which is on the beach in a nice area. My SO also told me he has big time money.

Now, when he comes over to our apartment he ALWAYS has on a T-Shirt, cargo shorts and flip flops. Ok, that's not a big deal because here in Cali people with money dress all kinds of ways.

Anyway, this friend has told us how he goes to Vegas and Paula and plays the slots and wins big. I'm talking about in the thousands of dollars. Ok, still no big deal.

I asked my SO what does his house look like and he said he has never been to his house. I went...wait...this is someone you have known for a lot of years even before you met me and you have never been to his house.

My SO said he didn't want people to come to his house because his wife was in the witness protection program. I was like....WHAT.....yet his wife has been at her job, so the friend says, for a lot of years, travels and makes a lot of money. I told my SO people in a witness program don't that.

Here are some of the other things I have heard him say.

    1. He got fired from his job last summer because of a run-in with his boss. I asked him why didn't he just start his own business(I mean since he has money) and he said he was thinking about it but he has to get some sort of license and hasn't applied for it yet.

    2. He told us a few months ago he had applied for a job in the field working for the FBI. He has never mentioned if that went through or not.

    3. He is going back East to look at some property because he wants to build a house there. When he came over tonight I asked him how was the house coming along. He said they have started digging up the ground to get the foundation ready. He never told my SO that he had left to go back East or when he got back here and my SO talks to him every week or so. OK

    4. His wife's birthday was today and I asked him what he got her and he said a diamond necklace. He said his wife thought he had forgot about her birthday and he was going to surprise her at work by having UPS deliver the necklace.

I said you bought your wife a diamond necklace and had it delivered by UPS. He said ';oh it's safe she has to sign for it';. I was stunned.

    5. He told us when he was putting up the Xmas lights around his house his neighbor said ';when you finish you can put up mine'; and she opened her robe and had nothing on underneath.

I told my SO tonight, I like your friend but he is a liar. My SO just kinda shrugged his shoulders and said ';he lives in his own world';....I said...ya think. lol

Now does anyone else think the same way as I do about him? He is such a nice fellow but I just find it hard to believe some of the things that come out of his mouth.Who Thinks This Dude Is A Pathological Liar?
I think some of the things he is saying is outrageous. He may be a pathological liar. It is crazy that they happen to know exactly how to say things to make it sound like it really happened. My brother is a pathological liar. When we asked him questions, he always had an answer, no matter how crazy it was. But, he would make it sound so real that it was hard to believe it would be a lie. So, then your left confused as to believe his story or to believe that he was lying. Well, as long as the guy doesn't hurt you or your family, then I think you shouldn't really stress about it. If you confront him, he will get defensive. Just go along with his stories. Let him think you believe him. But when he starts trying to get something out of you (ie. money like my brother did) with his outlandish stories, then cut him loose. But as long as he isn't doing any harm, then I would just amuse him.Who Thinks This Dude Is A Pathological Liar?
Well, I couldnt tell you if he is a pathological liar or not, cuz im not a Dr, BUT, there is something definitely wrong with him and his situation. Theres another reason why he doesnt want anyone at his house, and its not because his wifes in the witness protection program. For one, he wouldnt be able to tell anyone that. I doubt he has alot of money too. I doubt most of the things he has said are true. I have a step-son that is very similar to that guy. Hes a big talker, and brags about things hes had or done, but doesnt tell anyone that he works at a fast food restaurant, doesnt have his own place to live, doesnt have a car, doesnt have a phone, doesnt have anything....yet he will tell people that he worked for Donald Trump when he lived in Florida...which we know for a fact is a lie.

Anyway, if I were you, Id tell your SO, that you dont want this guy at your house, if you cant be at his house. I wouldnt trust him.*
