I have been applying like mad but I don't know if I am getting anywhere. Will I have to move to Washington or Arlington, VA?How do you get a job with the federal governement, such as the FBI, DEA, ATF, etc?
apply on line at www.usajobs.gov. or you can go the individual departments and apply thru there web site. it narrows the field. for example if you go thru the FBI or DEA websites only the FBI or DEA jobs will show others will be filtered out. you have to have a good record also for if you have been arrested it would be difficult to get a job with the u.s. government. you also have to go thru a security clearance background investigation. they ask you to go back 15 years. job you have had, military, arrest record and references. they do check on your references and interview people you list and check with your neighbors to see if you are decent. they also check the local police department for any problems not entered in the national system, like open bear violation and such. they also check your finances. this is also done every 5 years. 15 percent of all jobs of the federal government is in washington dc area. you might have to move it is part of the hiring agreement. you can always ask and if have to move, then move and maybe transfer a year or two later to where you are now.How do you get a job with the federal governement, such as the FBI, DEA, ATF, etc?
It takes a four year eduction and sometimes a military background. Also - becoming a traitor to the American people helps.
well you need to be atleast 21 for most and no older than 37 upon entry you need military or police experiance and atleast a Bachalors degree and able to recieve a TS clearance
Well I work for the government and it's a long process anyway. You might have to move somewhere it depends on what assignment they have for you. You can apply and apply but they take a while. I would make sure you have everything set as far as applying and resume. Then start calling them to see where you are in the system. Good Luck
In Atlanta, they post it online an in the paper. You go and take a test. After that I do not know.
