i would love to work for the fbi, and i am highly interested in forensics. i would love to be a forensic anthropologist, but since dead bodies are not exactly found every day i fear that it wouldn't be a substantial job. also, there is a lot of competition for the few jobs that are available in that field. what other jobs are available at the FBI for forensics? could forensic anthropology still be an option? how hard is it to get a job with the FBI? what would my salary be?
sorry for all the questions!FBI forensic jobs?????????????????
Joining the FBI would be a great experience for you. First of all in order for you to be able to get into this field, you should have some experience in law enforcement as an officer, and get some other training programs that will help you to match the experience required for this area.
FBI detectives do not only need to work around simple cases, they also need to look for cases that need a huge amount of explanation, and sometimes ones that are highly technical.
Good luck:)FBI forensic jobs?????????????????
You would actually be surprised.
There are more dead bodies in most towns than there are reported over the news or in the paper. Also, FBI forensics don't just work on the deceased, but also on criminal cases. And you know how many of those happen every day!
Also, the FBI does a very, very extensive background check.
They have access to records that people would otherwise find unimaginable. They will go visit various people you've known in your lifetime, and ask them a series of questions. They won't be anything more than ';would you leave your children alone with this person?'; or ';do you know of any suspicious criminal activities, or do you see people going in and out of their house during odd hours of the day?';
We got asked those questions when an old family friend wanted to join the secret service, and they do the same thing for the FBI.
Make sure that you have a clean record.
Salaries vary just like any other job, and your salary wouldn't be any more than if you were in general forensics and not with the FBI. It all depends on your experience, qualifications, and your asking salary.
Like any other job, there is always room for negotiation.
