How can I file a lien against a person living in Nevada?

I am the guardian of 2 teenage boys and their mom stole almost $10,000.00 from them. We are trying to get her investigated but it was mentioned to me that maybe I should file a lien against her brand new car- we think she bought it with their money since she doesn't have a job and was trying to borrow money from us before being arrested. It's about the only thing she has of value since she already lost her home and just got out of jail. She already told Social Security (who are the ones who gave the boys the money in the first place) that she would not return it. They recommended that we contact the FBI, but I would like to put a lien on her car in the meantime... We are already going through court proceedings against her which is costing us and I don't really have the extra money to hire an attorney to help me with this lien ordeal...How can I file a lien against a person living in Nevada?
You won't be able to get a lien until you get a money judgment from the Court. If you win in Court, then you initiate the proper paperwork to obtain judgment liens. You can't just put a lien on someone without their consent; you need court approval. How can I file a lien against a person living in Nevada?
You can't just decide to put a lien on someones car. Or else there'd be fraud everywhere. You can get a judgment and then proceed. They will tell you what to do. Your best bet is to go to legal aid. Call United Way in your area and ask for the Legal Aid number. Because the boys are on soc. sec. they will help.

Reality is, you will probably never see the money. Dragging those children through all this, only makes them suffer more. It's really pointless. You have the kids, make them whole again by giving them love, compassion and understanding. Never bad mouth their mom in front of them, she's still their mom, and they will end up resenting you, not her, if you do. All the time spent doing this could be better spent teaching them values and spending time with them.
