How to get into FBI or CIA?

I'm only 15 but i know that i want to be in a government position when i grow up. I was planning to graduate college with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and go on to being a police officer for about 3-5 years. I wanted to then apply to the FBI or CIA. I want to be a field agent in both agencies. Is my plan good? and if not, how could i get myself a greater chance at becoming an agent? and if you still want to answer another question, which agency and job would i have the most excitement? How to get into FBI or CIA?
You can't be an agent for both at the same time. Just like you couldn't work for the state Department of Motor Vehicles (conducting drivers' tests) and the state Department of Education (teacher) at the same time.

The FBI is like a federal police force that solves crime within the United States. The CIA is a spy agency that works both within the United States (checking for terrorists, for example) and outside the United States (assessing the risk that other countries pose to the US).

A lot of the jobs in both agencies are simply desk jobs where people do research about criminals (FBI) or particular countries or leaders (CIA). They read a lot, write their opinion of the situation and wait for instructions from the higher-ups in the department. People usually only become field agents once they've demonstrated that they can be good desk agents (and have proven their loyalty).

Another agency that is a good one to consider is the ATF, or Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. They are involved in a lot of drugs policing, and they have a lot of field agents.

But really, most jobs are not exciting. Policing is like being in the military: 95% boredom, 5% frightened out of your mind.

Your plan sounds very good as a start. The best thing to do is to study hard, stay out of trouble, and read up about the different agencies and what they do.

First things first, you must stay out of trouble. You can't have a criminal record. You also need to stop posting ANYTHING on the internet - do not post to forums, etc. They will look at everything you've ever posted about yourself and they'll take it all into account. They interview your family members and even go door to door to your neighbors to ask about you. They also call up your workplace and ask questions. They're very creepy with how they investigate potential agents.

Learn a 2nd language - Arabic, spanish, russian or chinese would be best and the most useful.

Get your Bachelors in forensics or some sort of international relations or international policy or something like that, then get a law degree. The FBI loves to hire lawyers. If you're a lawyer with and you can speak a foreign language fluently AND you have a clean background check, you'll probably get hired.

Things to also keep in mind - you have to be in peak physical form. You need to be able to endure getting the crap beat out of you on a daily basis during your training and you need to be able to run very far, fairly quickly.

Also, find a way to volunteer in your community. They like that on your resume as well. Once you're old enough, possibly become an EMT while you're in college. Learn to deal with blood, guts and gore.
