Is there a way to get Security Clearance?

I am graduating in May with a Bachelors in Computer Science and several years of experience to go along with the degree. I would like to apply for some jobs at the FBI that require Secret Clearance. I know you have to work for a government agency in order to get this. Will they be willing to get this for you or do they usually pass on people that don't already have it? If they do pass on people how would one go about getting clearance? Any jobs you could start out at and work to get the clearance? Is there a way to get Security Clearance?
Only if you get the job, then the FBI will do the paperwork involved. If you do not pass the Background Investigation, you will not receive the clearance nor the job.

There are other defense contractors that require clearances-nuke facilities, etc.Is there a way to get Security Clearance?
You get the security clearance if you get the job. And by that, I mean that the FBI will put you through the whole process to get it if they decide to hire you. You can still be turned down for the security clearance if you can't make it through the process, which would also result in the job offer going away. You can't just go out and get a security clearance on your own though.
They will get the clearance for you. Depending on the level you need, it can take a few weeks to even months. You really don't do anything for it-some simple paperwork and they do the rest. It involves looking at your background, close/immediate family, your financial credit, and even farther back depending on the type of clearance. Just apply for the job and go from there.
It should say in the job description and requirements if you need to already have clearance; or if its something that comes with the job. You will have to go through a lot more steps then a normal job interview and a much more intensive background check.
The employer has to get clearance for you. You can start some and while they are checking you can't do any work. But there are different rules for different clearance levels - Top Secret takes forever, Secret doesn't.

Depends on how tight the job market is.
